How to shake hand with other people?

Perhaps one of the greatest gift in this world is the art of saying hello, using our body language. In which it could generate a lot different response on different culture, religion or beliefs. Sign language that we think that it might work and be friendly in one country might not apply in other. But here’s a quick guide on how you can use this global method of saying hello. Shaking hand.

First before proceeding, we’ll have to make sure that it’s best to keep our hand clean before  shaking our hands with our friend or any stranger.

Though it’s not a must, but it’s best practice to use your right hand to greet the other person. Do not hesitate to volunteer to offer a handshake upon meeting a new friend or colleague. It’s best also to lean your body slightly over the other person while shaking hand. Firmly hold the hand of the other person to complete the handshake.

It’s a general custom to apply less pressure during handshake towards female while for male, to express friendliness, there are some males prefer the handshake to be applied with moderate force. But please BEWARE not to apply too much pressure or force else you will end up hurting or offending the other person. With a motion of up-down, move slowly for 3 times before ending the handshake.

Once done, you can release the grip of the hand.

This step is not necessary but just to demonstrate that we have successfully demonstrated the art of handshaking. Enjoy!

How to open a packaged hardware?

Occasionally, we indulge ourselves with different type of new computer accessories or hardwares. But we normally find ourself in trouble trying to open up the package which is nicely enveloped in plastic. It’s often where we damage the hardware during the ‘opening’ process. Here I would like to share on how you can gently open the plastic package to avoid any damage onto the product.

For this example we’ll have this Logitech Earphone which is tightly air packed with plastic.

We’ll need a small blade/cutter for this. Be very cautious to avoid any injury onto your finger/hand. Avoid doing this with childrens around.

Start by cutting through the top of the plastic and make a hole onto it.

It’s not necessary to always create a hole in the middle to rip of the plastic case, for this instance, we’ll cut through the side of the packaging so we’ll able to remove the plastic case.

With the top and both left/right side of the plastic case is cut, it’s now easier for you to take out the product. Enjoy!

How to use mouse with wheel?

Out of so many great inventions for computers, there is one that we can never live without. Mouse. And here I would also like to share with you, in case you have a mouse with wheel, that you can click on it.

Here is a typical mouse that you can find on the market, priced around the range of RM10 to RM50.

For righthanders, this is how you normally access to the mouse.

With the second finger (cloest to thumb) resting on the left click of the mouse, the fourth finger (closest to pinky finger/where people usually wear rings, i think)  lay rest on the right click of the mouse. And for the mousewheel, you can leave the rest of the job for the middle finger.

So how do we normally use the mouse? With a limited space around a table, most of the times. We try hard to reach ‘hard to reach’ areas and stretching our arms unnecessarily.

To avoid such strains, kindly hold the mouse up from the table and then place the mouse closer to you and continue browsing. This will then ensure total enjoyment without much stress on the palm and your arm.

For the mouswheel, which are used for scrolling, you can actually use it for clicking. Which, for normal website browsing, clicking on it will bring up this unusual icon on your screen…

Which you then are able to maneuver  the website like the mighty mouse from apple, vertically  or horizontally or both at the same time. That’s about it. Enjoy!

And one worthy note on the red LED on the bottom of the ‘ballless’ mouse, it’s really harmful for the eye which it’s best to avoid your kid to look directly into it. Peace.

How to stick your CD Label to your CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW?

Have you ever wonder how easily you could solve your CD Label sticking problem? Instead of going through painful hours of sticking the labels onto your CDRs everytime, here’s a guide in using a tool that costs you less than RM20 (Have to recheck) to ease your eternal pain.

First of all, we need the CD Labels printed on a paper which is catered for cd labelling stickers. And the tool. I had no idea what it’s called, and yes it looks funny, but looks can be deceiving.

First, by taking off the CD Label from the paper, put it facing downward (the sticky part facing upward) onto the tool.

Followed by the CDR that you want to label.

Next, you should gently hold onto the middle of the CDR and push it downward to allow the sticker to stick onto the CDR.

And Taa-Daa…Here you have a magical sticked-on-the-center-of-the-CDR. Thanks Zanoradiel for helping out.
